Before you convert
Wide sheets may be scaled or split across pages by the renderer. Print areas and frozen panes are not preserved.
Print spreadsheets into a shareable PDF
Excel to PDF renders an XLS or XLSX workbook into a fixed document — handy for invoices, financial statements, and reports that must look identical for every recipient.
Spreadsheets are not page-shaped by nature: wide sheets are scaled or flowed across pages by the renderer. Check where columns land before distributing the result.
Useful situations
- Send a quote or statement that recipients cannot accidentally edit.
- Print a formatted report from a spreadsheet.
- Submit financial data to a system that only accepts PDF.
How to use Excel to PDF
- Select an XLS or XLSX within the size limit.
- Convert — the renderer lays out the sheets as PDF pages.
- Download and check that wide tables are not clipped.
What to expect
- Print areas, frozen panes, and filter views do not translate.
- Very wide sheets may shrink to unreadable scale — adjust page setup in the source if needed.
- Formulas appear as their calculated values, not the formulas themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my columns get cut off in the PDF?
The sheet is wider than the PDF page. Set print scaling or narrower print areas in the spreadsheet before converting for the cleanest result.
Do hidden rows and sheets appear in the output?
Hidden content usually stays hidden, but verify the PDF — do not rely on hiding as a security measure for sensitive data.
Will the PDF keep my charts?
Charts render as static images of how they appeared in the sheet. Interactive or external-linked charts may not render fully.
